Verdict: It’s okay
Nice place. Very cozy for a hotel restaurant. We didn’t stay here but decided to stop here before heading to the airport. Food was good, nothing outstanding. Service was awesome though!
Excellent restaurant within easy driving distance of Seattle. Ambiance was very nice and cozy and food was fantastic, especially the risotto and the scallops. We came on a Monday so didn't get to try the cocktails but the mocktail list was great and they even had a hot mocktail for a cold January day. We will be back soon, thanks for the great experience!
The food at this lodge was delightful. Would easily give our meal 5 stars. Our server on the other hand wasn't very good 2 out of 5. Other servers around the restaurant seemed to be attentive and interactive and ours made us feel like she didn't want to come to our table. It's disappointing when you plan a nice experience and the server dampens the mood.
Surprisingly wonderful cozy ambience, service, and food. I had the duck two ways which was great and a rather generous portion too. My wife got the curried mussels which I thought was risky but honestly they were some of the best mussels I've ever had, really a world class dish. I'd stay there again (night before early flight) and definitely eat there too-don't forget to make reservations!
We ordered the cheese plate with Sardinian flatbread. It was $24 for three dribbles of jam that tasted like the syrups you get from a squeeze bottle and three pieces of cheese. Three cheeses on a cheese plate wouldn't be terrible if the "accoutrements" it came with were anything more than a couple of raspberries, sad jam, and a few candied pecans. The flatbread was neither bread nor good. It was so thin and not even remotely crisp, so you couldn't spread any of the cheeses on it. It tasted like it had been left out for weeks and absorbed all of the humidity of the kitchen. We decided to go somewhere else for dinner. I'm really shocked that a creamy brie and two very strong blue cheeses were served without any additional items to help balance out those really strong flavors. Lastly, we were seated at a small lower bistro table that was so wobbly that neither of us could touch it without our waters being sloshed around. The tabletop. Also, spun and I don't think it was supposed to do that. Getting in and out of the two heavy wingback chairs that were seated at this wobbly table was quite difficult because there really wasn't room to push them back nor did I have the strength to do so on the surface that the table and chairs were on. I was really looking forward to dining here and I am a bit disappointed.
The experience was quite lovely.
A relaxing atmosphere with our patient and informative waitress/server. Celeste did a wonderful job, very good conversation. Every question/request we made was answered/ served immediately.
Our reservation for two began at 5, we stayed till 7. Our waters did not stay empty for longer than 5 minutes, our food was delicious, the cozy fireplace was warming, and the candle at our table added on to the welcoming feeling.
We had the cheese plate, bread and butter, and coffee as an appetizer.
Salmon and Halibut as our main course, wine, and, a salad.
For our dessert we had a Crème brûlée, and Tiramisu.
Will definitely come back!
We met my Dad here for dinner when he had a layover in Seattle and was staying at the hotel. The hotel is amazing and beautiful. The restaurant ambiance is fun and relaxing. The food not so much. My daughter had the buttered noodles off the kids menu. They came partially uncooked and soaked in oily butter. Had them remake and still not very yummy, maybe it was the type of noodle they were using that either made them crunchy or chewy. I had the salmon. It was nice but lacked any real flavor. The potato’s that came with it were also fairly bland. My father had the halibut and said it was tasty and my husband had the steak said it was ok, but not the best. My issue is for the price everything should be good and if the kitchen is having trouble cooking noodles that’s a bad sign. They didn’t offer to comp the noodles or anything. Our server was nice and apologized for the noodles but for a nicer restaurant I felt like they could have taken it off the bill. I probably wouldn’t go back here unless someone was staying at the hotel that we were meeting.
Pleasant dining experience. Food was excellent. Grass fed beef steak was good. Stayed at the lodge a few times but never ate here. Glad to have tried it out today.
